Abstract

This article aimed to analyze the relationship between the military of the Brazilian and Colombian armies in the borderland using as background the perceptions military in both countries. In a military perspective, these regions represent both geopolitical (westphalian sovereignty) and security threats (domestic sovereignty). Our hypothesis is that, in the face of the shared territorial control challenges, there have been constituted a considerable channel of military diplomacy between Brazil and Colombia, especially in the last decade, and this feature that tends to facilitate military cooperation between the both countries.
