About the Journal
The Brazilian Journal of Defense Studies (RBED) is a an academic journal that publishes scientific articles, essays, and reviews (previously unpublished in books, magazines, or journals) related to the area of defense and international security. RBED accepts submissions of articles and reviews in Portuguese, Spanish, and English on a rolling basis, which will be published in their original language. The journal receives proposals for thematic sections on a rolling basis (check our submission policy to learn more).
RBED is a journal maintained by the Brazilian Association of Defense Studies (ABED).
Created in 2005, ABED is an academic association whose purpose is to bring together researchers who develop studies and research on national defense, international security, war and peace, relations between Armed Forces and society, science and technology in the field of national defense, and military issues in general.
RBED encourages the submission of texts related to these themes to promote the development of the area, the exchange of ideas, and the debate of problems pertinent to this field of knowledge, in order to build an inclusive and plural epistemic community of defense.
Located in the area of Humanities the journal covers the thematic diversity and methodological plurality that characterize Defense Studies in Brazil and related areas, being open to interdisciplinary reflections and dialogues on the topics of interest to the journal.
ABED is currently chaired by Prof. Dr. Adriana Aparecida Marques. Learn more on the association's website: http://www.abedef.org/
